The maker of glass used in liquid crystal display screens for televisions, smartphones and tablet computers said it has glass-making facilities in Shizuoka and Sakai city, Japan.

"To date, the company has not experienced any power outages, nor has it received notification of any power allocations," Corning said in a statement.

Corning said it continues to monitor the status of its customers and suppliers in Japan.
