Reporting by The Advocate says that while trade tariffs have increased the cost of building materials, local construction officials have not noted any effect on future projects. The report also points to numbers recently released by the Associated General Contractors of America, which highlight the fact that the producer price index for aluminum products was 20 percent higher year over year in June, and 12.3 percent higher for steel.
